So you’ve accomplished your BIG GOAL

…and you’re feeling mighty swell, ain’t ya?!

Last night, I accomplished one of my BIG GOALS. I completed the Book of Matthew.

Last year, I set out to read the full New Testament from start to finish. Although I am very familiar and well-read on Old and New Testament scripture, I set this new goal in motion in order to get re-acquainted with the scriptures, gain new insight, and be able to pull upon and reference God’s scripture whether or not I have the text right before me.

I barely got through the Book of Matthew last year. Many days I was just too exhausted from some of my health challenges to fulfill my new assignment; on others I re-read scripture to ensure that I had grasped and renewed Word and not simply “auto-piloted” that which I already knew.

So this year, that goal became even BIGGER. I meant to accomplish it – to finish the New Testament, reading God’s Word with “new” eyes.

What’s amazing is that God paired my new goal with His process – all designed for my spiritual development and physical healing. My husband and pastor shared with me the process of a daily discarding of those things which hindered my complete and whole rest. Pain in my body? Things a hindrance to Godly rest? Write it down, and discard of it – it now belongs to God. He also challenged me to be consistent in my daily Passion Series inscribings. Each night I devoted to discarding, stretching, writing…and reading. As I approached each new day, God shared scriptural impartation and spiritual awareness through daily readings, videos, prayer, and meditation. Here I set out to complete a new assignment of reading, and God gave me so much more!

With the Book of Matthew now complete, I just have unparalleled momentum as I dive into the Book of Mark and read God’s Word even further.

Each day is a stepping stone and an opportunity to grow in God – in His way, in His timing, and by His process.

What have I gained?

  1. A new-found strength and stamina to reach my goals.
  2. Excitement for scripture that lies ahead.
  3. A trust in God revealing wisdom and leading me to new understanding of His Word.

Be empowered to reach your goals. Be enlightened as you seek new places in the Lord. For when you knock, He surely will answer, and when you seek new things in Him, you can be sure that they will be found.

Matthew 7:7-8 King James Version (KJV)

7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
