I spent much of the day in my sunroom, enjoying the peace and tranquility that the Lord designated and reflecting on some specific things that God desired to share with me. I’d been lately giving some thought into the pursuits set before us – how to organize, focus, and be effective. Today, God really put me in position to focus on our gifts, significance, His structure, and His approach.
I thought about how I wanted to pursue purpose – I am interested in being effective and being unique, i.e. – not following an ungodly standard or popular mold, but doing things by using the gifts, intelligence, and purpose that God has gifted me with.
In hearing the Lord’s responses and in feeling His peace, I decided to go forth and to invest the proper Godly time into finishing what God has started and set before us.
I’ve been wanting to encourage people – women in particular – lately. And in speaking to my husband this evening about some of the pursuits of my heart and how I felt about pursuing them, here are the words that the Holy Spirit gave through the words of my husband:
Whether you are a business owner or whether you’re working at a corporate 9 to 5, you can get so busy completing the dreams and realities of others that you don’t take the time to invest in your dreams or affirmations.
However you choose to fulfill the desires of your dreams, be sure to take some time to invest in yourself.
I will pursue, in heavy pursuit and desire, what the Lord has for me. I don’t have to fit anyone else’s standard, format, or mold – just the Lord’s standard and goal posts. I will take the time to make effective investments that yield Godly fruit, because, as my husband always says: “What you do in this season will affect how you live in the next.”
Lord, I desire to be effective and to do so by your standard. This is my prayer, in the Powerful, Righteous, Holy Name of Jesus, Amen.
Blessings,
Kaye Howard.
