Living in Reverent Fear

“Live out your time as foreigners here in reverent fear…” – 1 Peter 1:17b

“Though you have not seen Him, you love Him; and even though you do not see Him now, you believe in Him…” – 1 Peter 1:8

What thoughts and deeds have we wasted our time and energy on while the Lord God required more from us? How we could have better seen Him and felt the expression of His love for us.

To honor God is to know Him, and to love Him is to trust Him.

How can we commit ourselves to desiring God and for that to be what is fulfilling to us?

Living in reverent fear means to let God be the leader of movement within our hearts, to glorify His Name, and to reverently look forward to honoring His purpose – both here on earth and in the glory to come.

I write this as I watch the leaves of the trees bounce about with joy in response to the silent wind’s movement.

Sometimes the truth comes to us in small breezes; in other times, a rambunctious wind rustles us about. No matter how God chooses to move within your heart, always respond with a resonant, “Yes.”
