For the past two weeks, we’ve been experiencing 40 Days of Prayer, a time when we collectively gather with other local churches, groups, individuals, and organizations in order to pray for the salvation and needs of our surrounding community.
At today’s prayer gathering, my husband and I were asked to lead prayers for those who needed healing.
When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them and healed their sick.
In the recent past, the passage from which this scripture is taken really resonated with me in a special way. Jesus gave tender and specific care to those who were “going through,” even though He Himself may have been considered to have been “going through” – He had just been met with the news of the death of His close and trusted friend, John the Baptist.
After the prayer gathering, the topic and scripture really stuck with me, and that feeling only grew as the Lord continued to impress upon me the heart of someone who approached me thereafter and the heaviness of a few others.
It’s no coincidence that on my journey to receiving full healing and restoration that God so desires for others to be helped and healed along the way.
As you seek your path to full restoration, will you graciously share the overwhelming beauty of God’s restorative power with another?
